MN-CCD was encouraged to learn early this morning of the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold many of the provisions of the Affordable Care Act. As we are all aware, the Affordable Care Act aims to remove many of the barriers to health care coverage that currently exist for some Americans. As a community that often experiences difficulty accessing critical health and long term care services, the disability community will benefit from these reduced barriers to access. Most importantly, some Minnesotans with disabilities will now have access to health coverage that they may have previously been denied due to pre-existing conditions.
